Have this old capture device, finally found the cable for it, but seeing now I need the original install disk for the product key/code. I've installed the drivers, but trying to find anything I can use to capture some videos from VHS. I've tried a few programs with no success.

WinTV apps require the original disk or the code from the disk, which I do not have as I've not used it in years! I tried OBS, among others, and none seemed to detect this device or accept it as a source.

Any thoughts short of dropping $10 for the software? Surely there's something out there?? (although I'm apparently not finding it). So, this stopped working after I unplugged the device and restarted the computer.

Apparently, some combo of trying other programs allowed it to work in OBS Studio. The answer was here: And should that site be gone, I'll post it here, likely if nobody else needs it, I will.
